I loved Dagger o...I'd agree with both reviews.

I loved Dagger of the Mind - apart from all the touristy stuff, which every US show does in London. There were some nice touches - I liked that Scotland Yard weren't complete jerks, and the scene in the gentlemen's club was lovely (& hilarious).

It helps that Macbeth is a hammy play (I've never seen it underplayed, put it that way) - it's basically Shakespeare taking the money and running. The funny thing is, the two murderers get good reviews - it's not clear if the implication is that their performances are better because (unknown to the audience) they're talking about Sir Roger rather than King Duncan. Some good theatrical jokes, too.

I struggled with Requiem - frankly, I started to get bored. Nothing wrong with the actors - I just found the story really slow. I left it running while I did other stuff, half-watching the TV. However, having said that ... the resolution is brilliant. So far, watching this in sequence, only Murder by the Book has had a better final scene. The clues are all there, but it's superbly well-done. tom j joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13108887693320361796noreply@blogger.com
