You have to try to limit yourself to one or at most two episodes a day. The pacing of TV series really doesn't work if you binge-watch although I admit that when I buy a series on DVD that I've been looking forward to seeing I do get tempted to keep watching. But I try to resist the temptation.

I also find that old TV series are just generally more fun if you space them out because you're looking forward to watching the next episode the following night.dfordoomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02306293859869179118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5833699981210036110.post-90904929282945688552017-09-10T14:02:37.611-07:002017-09-10T14:02:37.611-07:00I got this on Amazon after reading this review. Yo...I got this on Amazon after reading this review. You're dead right about the black-and-white being an advantage - I doubt I would have enjoyed it so much in colour.

I made the mistake of watching the whole thing in one setting - I did begin to get distracted a couple of times. I'd recommend watching a couple of episodes at a time, or possibly three, as episode four is where it seems to kick up a gear.

The cast are pretty good; the teacher went on the play the lead villain in Tom Baker's first Doctor Who story, Robot. And the sound effects are really creepy.tom j joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13108887693320361796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5833699981210036110.post-19951970366180390892017-09-10T11:42:18.724-07:002017-09-10T11:42:18.724-07:00Ah that;s it!Ah that;s it!Red_Cardinalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12119321537913665046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5833699981210036110.post-84583737472822833732017-09-08T22:06:22.616-07:002017-09-08T22:06:22.616-07:00I wonder if this was made into a film at some poin...I wonder if this was made into a film at some point as the plot sounds vaguely familiar.

Yes, the novel was made into a film called Paperhouse in 1988. Apparently the TV series is much closer to the novel.dfordoomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02306293859869179118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5833699981210036110.post-31290578177411248922017-09-08T10:46:00.123-07:002017-09-08T10:46:00.123-07:00I enjoyed your thoughtful and insightful review of...I enjoyed your thoughtful and insightful review of this. I like programmes/films with a subtle horror/supernatural element so I think I might enjoy this.

I wonder if this was made into a film at some point as the plot sounds vaguely familiar. However, I can't for the life of me remember the name of the film I'm thinking of.Red_Cardinalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12119321537913665046noreply@blogger.com
